FNHMA 10th Anniversary National Conference

Updated: Sep 14, 2022

Our much anticipated Annual National Conference will take place in-person from Nov 1-3, 2022 in Victoria, BC.

The FNHMA hosts an annual conference every Fall focusing on current issues and best practices in health management. This year, we anticipate 650+ participants and approximately 40 exhibitors!

Our conference addresses trends, issues, tools, and successes in the areas of quality improvement and assurance; leadership and governance; professionalism; advocacy, partnerships and relationships; human resource management; financial management and accountability; health service delivery; planning; communication; and cultural awareness.

The conference workshops and events are geared toward all aspiring and currently practicing health professionals. Our conference also offers great opportunities to network with other health directors, managers, coordinators, and band councillors from across Canada.

The 2022 conference will kick off with the screening of the movie Kímmapiiyipitssini: The Meaning of Empathy (Kímmapiiyipitssini is a Blackfoot word meaning “giving kindness to each other”) followed by a conversation with Dr. Esther Tailfeathers, the lead participant in the movie.

The conference will also include the awards banquet and convocation ceremony where we will celebrate the new Certified First Nations Health Managers and present the Excellence in Health Leadership Award - Innovative Leaders.
