Welcome to Kristine Neglia, FNHMA Education Specialist:
Kristine will be responsible for the FNHMA certification activities, PLAR services, and delivery of the Certified First Nations Health Management Program and Workshops.
A member of the Curve Lake First Nation, ON, Kristine has worked for Indigenous organizations at the local, provincial, and national levels, including the Native Women’s Resource Centre in Toronto, the Aboriginal Healing and Wellness Strategy, the Ontario Native Women’s Association, the Native Women’s Association of Canada, and the First Nations Market Housing Fund.
Kristine is an active volunteer in the City of Ottawa and currently sits as President of Tewegan Housing for Aboriginal Youth, a 12-bed transitional home for young First Nations, Inuit and Métis women who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
Kristine brings to the position a wealth of experience in program and project management, governance and leadership, research and policy analysis, and facilitation skills with a focus on Indigenous people and communities. With a background in health and experience working with First Nations, Kristine recently received the Indigenous Cultural Competency certificate from the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement and the Government of Nunavut.
In 2017, Kristine received her Masters of Arts – Integrated Studies from Athabasca University, specializing in Equity Studies.

Welcome to Mary June Benedict, FNHMA Finance and Payroll Administrator:
Mary June passes along a ‘Sekon’ and ‘Hello’ and prefers to go by June. She is a member of the Akwesasne Mohawk Nation and single mother of two girls, 18 & 14. In her own words: “It has been my goal to gain a position within an organization that helps people which I usually do every day. My life will continue to be about helping people and building them up to become the best they can be.”
June graduated from the Academy of Learning Cornwall Career College in 2012 where she took her Business & Office Accounting Clerk Diploma. June has worked as an Associate, Keyholder and Assist Manager for Dollarama in Cornwall.
“I’m excited to be a part of such an ambitious organization that will allow me to grow and become a permanent team member. I’m grateful for this opportunity and look forward to working with all of you!”, states June on her recent appointment to the team.
